Pastor Larry L. Smith is the husband of Mother Pamela S. Smith. To their union they have two wonderful sons Justin (Lucrecia) and Jakolbie (Chyna).  Pastor Smith and First Lady Pam have been blessed with two wonderful Daughter-in-laws. They also have 5 lovely grandchildren (Lyric, Jordan, Liam, August and Jackson). Pastor Smith is the former Pastor of Little Persimmon Grove P.B. Church located in Athens, Alabama. He led that flock for 9 years before being called to come to Beaver Dam.

He graduated from Buckhorn High School in New Market, Alabama. He continued his secular education at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma, Alabama A&M University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, before receiving his undergrad degree in Business Management from Athens State University. He also attended Union Chapel Bible College in Huntsville as part of his religious studies. Pastor Smith received a Master’s Degree in Global Business Management from the University of Phoenix. He is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies at Huntsville Bible College.

He was reared by his Grandparents (Robert and Cora Strong) in Huntsville, Alabama. Pastor Smith was called into the ministry at an early age. However, in the fullness of time he answered the call in 1996.  He accepted his calling while a member of Meridianville Bottom P.B. Church under the Pastoral ship of Pastor Toronzo Ezell. Later he sat under the Pastoral ship of Pastor Sandy Kinslow.

Pastor Smith served as the Chief Evangelist of the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Association approximately 4 years and enjoyed every moment of the service. He also served as the Vice-Moderator to Dr. Jerry L. Crutcher while affiliated with the Association and President of the Sunday School Convention of said Association.

Pastor Smith’s ministry is best accurately described in Philippians 3:12-14, “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
